The first giant from BMW-Alpina

BMW ALPINA has taken over the largest available model in the BMW range, which is already an amazing model on the roads with its appearance, and its dimensions are also outstanding, making it a real giant among European cars. The new model is named the XB7 from BMW-Alpina, which has the advantages of spaciousness and a luxurious Sports Activity Vehicle with superior driving dynamics, unrivalled agility, and a powerful, state-of-the-art ultra-high performance drivetrain. Makes every journey a first class adventure and delivers a genuine ALPINA driving experience. Under the hood was a 4.0-liter engine with bi-turbo charging delivers an output of 457 kW (621 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) which is available from an extraordinary 2000 rpm. The BMW ALPINA XB7 needs just 4.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph).

Maximum speed is limited to 290 km/h (180 mph). The sporty luxury SAV model is equipped with state-of-the-art suspension technology that a new dimensions in driving dynamics. The ALPINA Sport Suspension, with two-axle air springs, a finely-balanced damper set-up and Active Roll Stabilization, offers a wide variety of driving experiences ranging from plush ride comfort to advanced, race-inspired dynamics. An ALPINA specific dome-bulkhead strut and reinforced torsion struts increase body rigidity. The two-axle air suspension allows for a remarkable and noticeable 40 mm (1.6“) change in ride height, depending on driving situation and Mode selection. When selecting SPORT mode or at speeds above 160 km/h (100 mph), the ride height is lowered by 20 mm (0.8“). The ride height is lowered another 20 mm (0.8“) for a total of 40 mm (1.6“) beyond speeds of 250 km/h (155 mph) or when selecting SPORT+ mode.

The resulting lower centre of gravity and changes in suspension geometry, with associated increases in negative camber, have a significant positive effect on dynamic handling and road holding. All new 23“ forged-alloy wheels in the iconic ALPINA CLASSIC 20 spoke design and finished in Anthracite are optionally available. In collaboration with the experts at Pirelli, the high-performance summer tyres for the 23“ wheels have been explicitly developed and specified for the BMW ALPINA XB7 and provide impressive grip and guaranteed visual presence around town. The ALPINA front apron with large air intakes is aerodynamically optimized to reduce uplift for maximum high-speed stability. At the rear the ALPINA sport exhaust system with two twin tailpipes is beautifully integrated into the design of the ALPINA rear apron. The middle of the rear apron is accentuated by small diffusor fins.

The cabin did not remain intact either, which received the BMW Alpina refinements. Elegant ALPINA refinements, such as the iDrive Controller in crystal glass with lasered ALPINA logo, contribute to an exquisite interior ambiance. Each detail of the BMW ALPINA XB7 interior design is finely crafted to provide comfort and sensory delight. Three rows of seats – optionally available in premium LAVALINA leather – generously accommodate six or seven occupants. The ALPINA Sport Steering Wheel hand-finished in finest LAVALINA leather and featuring trademark Blue/Green stichting ensures a comfortable grip. The three-part panoramic glass sunroof contributes to a light and airy atmosphere in the interior. The new model will start in Germany at € 151,387.39 (CHF 178,900) .
