1994 BMW ALPINA B12 5.7 - PARIS - M8 with V12 On the Paris car auction, besides the B9 3.5 model, they sell a B12 5.7 model at auction, which comes from a collection like a B9 3.5 model. The base of the B12 5.7 model was the famous BMW 8 Series coupe. While the M-division of BMW never formally produced an ‘M8’, Alpina seized the opportunity to make something truly special. Based on the 850 CSi, already an excellent car, BMW bored its V-12 to 5.7 litres. |

By modifying the camshafts, intake, crankshaft and fitting a new exhaust, output was raised to 416 bhp and 570 nm of torque. Buyers could choose between a six-speed manual transmission as standard, or Alpina’s optional Shift-Tronic gearbox. The latter is fitted to the example offered here. Sold new by Alpina in Germany in April of 1994, this B12 5.7 is finished in Calypsorot metallic paint over an Anthrazit Buffalo leather interior and is believed to be the only example finished in this colour combination. The accompanying service book shows that the car was serviced at Cuntz Speyer, the BMW dealership in Speyer, Germany, through its early life. |
